Sen.
Antonio Trillanes IV denied the claims that he is involved in the stabbing
incident that happened in the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa. The said
incident left a Chinese drug lord dead and other inmates wounded.
Trillanes
said in a local radio station interview that Justice Secretary Vitaliano
Aguirre II’s claim that he and Senator Leila De Lima were behind the incident
is “totally absurd”.
During
the interview, Trillanes said that he has no idea who Tomas Doniña is. Doniña
is the person who stabbed Jaybee Sebastian.
“I categorically deny any involvement in the stabbing incident of Jaybee Sebastian. Why would I even do that? It is totally absurd,” according to Trillanes.
Instead
of simply withdrawing from the issue, Trillanes filed a motion for the Senate
to investigate the stabbing incident. Trillanes is quite confident that the
Senate investigation can set the truth out.
“Anyway, Aguirre and his gang better get their stories straight because we will have a full blown Senate inquiry to get the truth out,” Trillanes added.
The
senator also mentioned that Aguirre’s statements were all scripted to pull him
down. Trillanes even said that it is a form of political harassment. According
to the senator, Aguirre’s moves were only to gain attention from the media that
they are indeed doing their job but in fact not.
“Makikita ninyo kung gaano malaking kalokohan itong script na ito kapag pinatawag na yan sa Senado, at itong si Aguirre, hindi natin palulusutin yan,” the senator added.
On
the other hand, Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez stated that Jaybee Sebastian might
have been actually planned to be killed. This plot is supposed to silence him
so he can’t testify about the details of the drug transactions happening inside
the New Bilibid Prison.
